I've been volunteering at the Cartoon Art Museum for a day now (I know... success! haha!) and the museum hosted an event to promote one of the animators they are currently exhibiting. The animator is Nina Paley and the movie they showcased was Sita Sings the Blues. It was amazing!! I was incredibly inspired. It's about an 1hr 20mins long and she animated it all by herself, even the colouring. I loved the combination of different animation styles to tell the story.
Interesting fact: There are two stories in the movie. The one taken place in the states is based on her life.
I've known this artist for while now (about 2 years). He is a British artist. His art is normally very risque and explicit. I like his boldness and the different ethnicity exposure. I like his girl on the toilet composition. Mine is below.
